Blogmas #5 Four Gift Ideas For Dental Health Professionals

All I want for Christmas is you!! This is me at every visit to my massage therapist. I really wish I could go more often. So, yes, I want more visits to my massage therapist for Christmas. Dental professionals are at a higher risk for musculoskeletal disorders. This includes injuries to soft and hard tissues of the neck, shoulder, wrist, and back. These injuries are caused by repetitive precise movements and awkward body positions that are performed daily by dental professionals. I think the best gift you can give a dental professional, outside of a paid vacation, is something that will help them maintain the pain caused by the job they do.

Since it’s self-care Sunday, here are four gift ideas for dental health care professionals.

Massage Therapy

I suggest asking if they have a therapist or attend a certain facility. Once you know this information, purchase a gift card for services. A bonus would be getting a membership for them because massage therapy should be a part of their self-care regimen.

Chiropractor/Physical Therapy

Some professionals may have hard tissue issues or may be in recovery from serious inquires or surgery. Assisting with their chiropractic care or physical therapy is a great gift to help them maintain their physical health.

Yoga

The dental profession is physically and mentally demanding. Practicing yoga can help improve posture and condition the body to prevent injuries and reduce the risk of back, neck, and shoulder pain. Attending a yoga class regularly is good for reducing stress, creating calmness, and increasing core strength, and musculoskeletal health. A covering a few yoga classes would make for a great gift for a dental health professional.

Esthetician/Dermatologist

Okay, this has nothing to do with managing pain, but I promise this is a good gift idea. Our skin has really been put through the storm with the masks and respirators we’ve had to wear. So, a nice facial or treatment for the breakouts we’re having would be a nice gift.

I hope this helped you brainstorm on finding the perfect gift for your favorite dental health professional. Considering the past two years, I think giving the gift of self-care and self-love is perfection.
